AeroTech's Fresh Air Unit with Heat Recovery (FAU-HR Series) is a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) designed to pre-cool and pre-dehumidify fresh air using exhaust air energy. The heat recovery wheel or plate heat exchanger achieves 70–80% energy recovery, greatly reducing cooling loads in tropical and humid climates. The unit supplies 100% outdoor air to enclosed spaces, ensuring consistent inflow of fresh, filtered, and optionally conditioned air.
Advanced multi-stage filtration includes pre-filters (G4), fine filters (F7/F9), and optional HEPA filters. Cooling and heating integration is available via customizable conditioning coils. The dual fan system (supply and exhaust) with EC plug fan options ensures energy-efficient operation.
All dimensions use 50mm thick Thermal Break panels. Available from 1,000 CFM (AE-010-HRU) to 30,000 CFM (AE-300-HRU) with 16 standard models. Suitable for healthcare facilities and hospitals to minimize airborne infection risks, commercial buildings including office spaces and retail environments, educational institutions, data centres for precision air conditioning support, and industrial facilities including cleanrooms and laboratories.
AeroTech has been catering to the Air Conditioning Industry since 2003.

An enthalpy wheel is a rotating desiccant-coated matrix that transfers both sensible heat (temperature) and latent heat (humidity) between the hot incoming fresh air and the cold exhaust air, recovering up to 80% of the HVAC energy that would otherwise be wasted.
In extreme climates where cooling 100% hot outdoor air requires massive chiller tonnage, an enthalpy heat recovery wheel typically recovers 60-80% of the energy. This aggressive reduction in the required cooling load usually results in an ROI (payback period) of 12 to 18 months.
A Barometric Relief Damper is a gravity-operated pressure valve used in tightly sealed buildings. When the HVAC system brings in high volumes of fresh outside air, internal pressure rises. The barometric damper automatically swings open to relieve this excess static pressure, preventing doors from becoming stuck.
In sub-zero climates, drawing 100% outside air can instantly freeze and burst hydronic cooling coils. FAUs require a pre-heat coil (electric or hot water) installed upstream, or the chilled water system must be dosed with a precise concentration of Propylene Glycol to lower the fluid's freezing point.
Unlike an enthalpy wheel which requires adjacent ductwork, a run-around coil system uses a pumped glycol loop to transfer heat between two physically separated coils—one in the exhaust duct and one in the fresh air intake. It provides sensible heat recovery with zero risk of cross-contamination.
