Air washers with 90% evaporation efficiency and 2-stage IDEC evaporative cooling units. 2,000 to 40,000 CFM. No refrigerant required.
An evaporative air cooling unit (also known as an air washer or industrial evaporative cooler) cools air using the principle of adiabatic evaporation — hot ambient air passes through water-saturated cellulose or honeycomb pads, causing water molecules to evaporate and absorb heat energy from the air, reducing its temperature by 10–15°C. This natural process requires no compressor and no chemical refrigerant, making it 80–90% cheaper to operate than mechanical refrigeration (vapor compression). Advanced 2-stage IDEC (Indirect-Direct Evaporative Cooling) adds a first stage where air is pre-cooled through a dry heat exchanger without adding moisture, achieving supply temperatures closer to the dew point.
Aerotech's Air Cooling Units provide energy-efficient cooling without chemical refrigerants. Our floor mounted air washers achieve up to 90% evaporation efficiency using high-saturation cellulose cooling pads with FRP/SS water basins. The 2-Stage Indirect/Direct Evaporative Cooling (IDEC) units deliver up to 40% energy savings compared to conventional air conditioning — no compressor, no ozone-depleting chemicals. Capacities from 2,000 to 40,000 CFM. Applications include textile mills (humidity control), manufacturing plants, warehouses, data centres (driving PUE toward 1.0), banquet halls, and food processing facilities. Water conservation: saves up to 30% versus traditional evaporative systems.
