Volumetric Constraints and Low-Profile Architecture
In commercial real estate and pharmaceutical cleanrooms, floor space is premium. Ceiling suspended AHUs are engineered with a strict low-profile form factor to fit within restrictive false ceiling plenums. This requires horizontal coil arrangements and highly compact, direct-drive DIDW (Double Inlet Double Width) centrifugal blowers.
Static Pressure and Ducting Limitations
Because these units utilize smaller diameter impellers to maintain their low profile, their External Static Pressure (ESP) capabilities are lower than floor-mounted units (typically limited to 25-50 mm w.g.). Engineers must meticulously calculate ductwork friction losses, utilizing smooth-radius elbows and precisely sized diffusers to ensure adequate air throw into the occupied zone.
